Make sure your TV is sited in a well ventilated area, away from moisture, excessive dust and any heat sources such as radiators.

Keep dust and debris out of vents and speakers.

Don’t keep flowers on top of your TV!

Ensure the set is sited against a wall, away from doorways and foot traffic and is on a sturdy enough base for its size.

Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched/squeezed.

Unplug the TV during lightning storms or when unused for long periods.

Special care must be taken when handling a flat screen TV. Don’t touch, rub or tap the screen since it could scratch or permanently damage it.

Cleaning

Before cleaning your TV, disconnect the plug from the mains.

How clean is your screen?

Standard tube screens can be wiped with a wet cleaner (such as glass cleaner) or an electrostatic dust cloth.

Plasma screens and liquid crystal display screens should be wiped clean with a dry, absorbent cloth. Never use a liquid spray, aerosol cleaner or alcohol. Only wipe in one direction, never in a circular motion.

If the TV comes with its own cleaning kit, use it!

For a cleaner case

Wipe down the frame with a dampened sponge or cloth. Never apply liquid cleaner directly to your screen or casing - the drips could damage the electronics. Buff afterwards with a dry cloth.
