Frequently asked questions
Rogue traders
-
Some customers have informed us that they have received a call from someone claiming to be from Domestic & General or D&G, or similar-sounding company names. Sometimes the caller may claim that they are “taking over from Domestic & General” or that “D&G have gone bust”.
These can be so called ‘rogue traders’, intent on selling you an alternative or fake policy in place of your AO Care policy, or gaining bank account details or money from you through ‘vishing’ conversations.
If you have any doubts about whether the call is from Domestic & General, please terminate the call and contact us directly on 0800 561 4493.
-
If you have given your banking or personal information to a company thinking it was Domestic & General and suspect it was a rogue trader, you should contact your bank immediately for advice.
-
If you suspect that a company is acting fraudulently or dishonestly, you should report this to the police via Action Fraud either:
- on their website at www.actionfraud.police.uk
- or by telephone on 0300 123 2040
If you are a Domestic & General customer, you can also contact us for further information on 0800 561 4493.
