Capacity

Drum capacity is measured in kilograms, which refers to the weight of the dry wash load that the washing machine can hold.

Spin speed

Spin speed refers to how many times your washing machine’s drum spins round in a minute. It's measured in revolutions per minute (rpm) – so a setting of 1200rpm means the drum will spin all the way round 1200 times every minute.

Wash cycles

Wash cycles are the types of programmes your washing machine uses to do its job. They are made up of a washing cycle, a rest period, a rinse, and then a spin to remove the water. Sometimes there are multiple rinse and spin cycles to get clothes extra clean.

Energy rating

The energy efficiency of washing machines is rated in terms of a set of energy efficiency classes from A to G; A being the most energy efficient, G the least.
